2025 saw a major resurgence, with returns well over 20%, comfortably ahead of the US market poster child. The momentum continued into 2026, with the FTSE 100 powering past the psychological 10,000 barrier. Political focus, a revival in old economy sectors, from financials to industrials and energy, and gradually returning flows have all contributed to this positive sentiment.
But is this a new dawn, or a false one?
